The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has published the 2023 call for applications for compensation of costs for indirect emissions greenhouse gases. The deadline for applications is 20 working days, ranging from 1 June to 28 June this year, both inclusive. “We have responded with determination and speed in order to protect the business network in face of the increase in energy prices”, expressed the minister Héctor Gómez.

The 28% increase in the budget for the Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience stands out, which rises to 6.258 B € . In the budget as a whole, industrial policy spending amounts to 2.077 billion euros, 21% of the total, trade, tourism and SME policy spending reaches 3.065 billion euros, 31% of the total, and R&D&I and digitalisation are budgeted at 4.875 billion euros, 49% of the total resources.

TVITEC's project to create a glass production plant in Cubillos del Sil will involve an investment of some 180 million euros and 250 direct jobs, within the framework of a just transition due to the closure of mines and coal-fired power plants in El Bierzo The agreement of intent has been signed by MITECO, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, the regional government of Castile and León, the town councils of Ponferrada and Cubillos del Sil, the county council of León, Endesa, Enagás and TVITEC The project comes under the Just Transition Agreement of Bierzo-Laciana, and constitutes a major project for the re-industrialisation of El Bierzo, incorporating green hydrogen and other elements to significantly reduce industrial emissions compared to the primary production that previously had to be imported with high associated emissions.
