General rules of data protection
The Regulation (HAT) 2016 / 679 of the European Parliament and of the council, 27 April 2016, concerning the protection of individuals with regard to the treatment of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/CE (general Rules of data protection) (hereinafter RGPD), applicable from 25 May 2018, establishes the obligation to appoint a representative of data protection to any authority or agency of the public sector to carry out the treatment of personal data.
In the ministry of industry, trade and tourism, the functions of the delegate of data protection (DPD), including its autonomous agencies seconded Spanish Office of patents and trademarks (OEPM), Spanish Centre metrology (CEM) and tourism institute of Spain (TURESPAÑA), have been assumed by D. Francisco Javier Nozal Millán, attached to the Undersecretary.
