International tourism closes 2021 with 64.4% increase in visitors and 76% increase in spending

31.1 million tourists visited Spain, up from 18.9 million in 2020, and spent 34.816 billion euros, up from 19.787 billion euros a year earlier. 2.9 tourists arrived in December compared to 648,989 in the same month in 2020. Reyes Maroto: "December has behaved better than expected and that allows us to meet the year-end forecasts that are very good if we take into account the uncertainty generated by Omicron, which has not had the expected negative impact."
